= European Convention for Christian Leaders in the Metal Scene

Dear Friends

Thanks a lot to all those who expressed interest to attend a European convention for Christian leaders in the Metal scene via emails, Facebook or by attending the pre-meeting at Elements of Rock 2012! There are so many that we decided happily to take the risk to organize such a European convention (EC) in Switzerland.

Goal

The EC is organized to bring together the many devoted Christians leading different ministries in the Metal scene from all over Europe: musicians & producers, promoters & concert organizers, label- & record store owners, pastors & leaders of churches, ministries and regional associations, … The days together will give us an opportunity to
- get to know each other and the different situations we face in our countries,
- learn from each other / share best practices,
- pray for each other and encourage each other,
- develop solutions for common issues and to use synergy effects.

Date & Location

We now reserved the vacation house “Ferienhaus Alpenblick” in Schwarzenegg (Berne) for the long weekend of 9-12 March 2013, starting Saturday by noon and ending Tuesday in the afternoon.

The EC takes place just before the 10th Elements of Rock, which is scheduled for 14-17 March 2013, Thursday until Sunday, so the long-distance travelers have a reason more to make the trip by combining the two events.
The vacation house is located in the foothills of the alps in the canton of Berne in CH-3616 Schwarzenegg. The closest airport is Berne Belp. The Airports of Zürich, Geneva and Basel are equally far. Public transport from the airports can be planned with the tool on www.sbb.ch to train station Thun and bus stop “Schwarzenegg, Bären”, where we can pick you up.

Program

We will discuss our situations, projects, hopes & issues first in work groups arranged according to functions but then also in cross-functional settings to develop a common vision of working together in diversity in the one body of Christ all over Europe. The program includes some teachings, Bible studies in small groups and services (by Pastor Bob Beeman and others), but also sportive elements such as a soccer-tournament and a walk / sightseeing in the beautiful region of Bernese Oberland/Lake of Thun. Of course we will have a lot of free time just for fellowship. And you may still tell us wishes for topics, speakers & program points!

Accommodation

We will have our own cooking team to keep the costs as low as possible. From your side some assistance with doing dishes, cleaning etc. will be needed. The available rooms: twin rooms with beds, larger shared rooms with staple beds of mattresses. Please bring a sleeping bag and sheet. Bathrooms with shower are outside the sleeping rooms on the same floors.

Costs

This amount includes: hosting, food & organised program. To have insurance is your own responsibility. To complete the registration we will ask an advance payment of 100 CHF.
Day participants will be charged: 1 day 40 CHF (ca. 33 EUR), 2 days 70 CHF (ca. 58 EUR), 3 days 90 CHF (ca. 75 EUR), 4 days 100 CHF (ca. 83 EUR).
In case you really cannot afford such an amount of money please let us know. We might find a solution to sponsor your stay since we want to have attendants from every country in Europe at the EC!

Registration

For better planning and preparation, we would appreciate your registration until 30 November 2012. Last call for registrations is 31 January 2013. To register, write an email to ec@unblack.ch providing your name, first name, address, phone number, email address, age, organisation, function and wish of room.
The registration is binding. Following your registration, you will receive an email with bank details for the advance payment. Payment is possible via Paypal or to a Swiss bank account. The confirmation of registration will be sent when the advance payment has been received. The rest of the registration fee can be paid until 28 February 2013 to the bank account or is owed cash at the start of the EC.
